Our successfully Kickstarted book is now available for purchase from the fine folks at TopatoCo! Weighing in at over two pounds and 144 pages, it’s a three-piece cloth, over-sized hardcover that collects Tiny Kitten Teeth chapters none through two. It is re-mastered, re-lettered and features additional pages as well as character designs and back-up material. Each and every page was lovingly and painstakingly hand-painted in gouache.
It is the definitive collection of our comics work over the past number of years. We’re really proud of the book and we’d be overjoyed if you would take a look at it.
You can also get it with the Owltown crest patch, as well as a quick signed doodle from us! Thanks again for continuing to support our art and our work.
I laid this baby out! It’s a gorgeous book with a sturdy, handsome cover and a fabric binding in a lovely deep blue with silver print. The interior is on nice heavy paper and I think the printing really did Becky’s lush colors justice!
I can’t wait to get my copy :3 excite-to-mant

This last year or so, I’m starting to think maybe I don’t want to be an artist anymore. Maybe I’m more of an art enthusiast. Everything just makes me feel tired and disappointed and if I’m being 100% honest, it would seem the only reason that I’m not working in my field right now is because I…
This is kind of the same boat I’m in lately. It’s not that I’ve totally lost interest in art/animation. It’s just that I’m really only interested in doing my own thing (Even if that means I work a totally unrelated job while I don’t make profit on my creative stuff). For one thing, I’m interested in too many things to focus on one, so I’m not particularly outstanding at any one thing, but I’m ok with that. I’ve lost interest in sending my stuff off to studios because the idea of working in one doesn’t interest me at all (And the idea of catering to each one with a specific portfolio doesn’t make sense.). I really don’t see anything wrong with that. People often say, “Well, you have skills and a degree, so you best utilize them to better support yourself.”. It all comes from people who work office jobs (or don’t work at all) and do freelance whenever it’s convenient for them, so whatever. Seriously.
I’m sure something will come together.
Thanks for this :> It feels really good to know we’ve got friends in this boat.
This last year or so, I’m starting to think maybe I don’t want to be an artist anymore. Maybe I’m more of an art enthusiast. Everything just makes me feel tired and disappointed and if I’m being 100% honest, it would seem the only reason that I’m not working in my field right now is because I don’t want to. It certainly is a lean time right now to be an animator, that’s for sure, so I know it’s extra tough to land a job in the industry, but the truth of the matter is I haven’t even tried. What I’m trying to work out is why I haven’t tried. Is it fear of rejection? Or is it simply because I don’t want this anymore?
As it turns out, that Adobe CS2 post I reblogged earlier wasn’t true. It was based on a misunderstanding. I apologize for spreading misinformation. Rest assured, I feel like a dope.
